ABOUT US

We are committed to cooking and serving

OUR START

Two Kings Concessions was established in June, 2010 in the Richmond, VA area.  It was the dream of Alan Hines and Mark Jones to establish a food business that would establish a strong foundation for their families.  2010 turned out to be busier than planned.  We debuted at two festivals in Virginia: The Chesterfield County Fair and the Suffolk Peanut Fest.  We were also very fortunate with an opportunity to be part of the University of Virginia Home Football games featuring three locations.  Two Kings was off to a GREAT start with 2011 looking bigger and better than ever.  As we grow, we never want to lose sight of our roots.  Customer Service and Quality products will continue to be the corner stone of our business.  We truly want to be "Part of the Experience"; Alan and Mark have some big plans for the future!!

Mark Jones was born and raised in Chesapeake, VA where he attended Indian River High School.   He fell in love with Food Service while being a Boy Scout.  He was in charge of many Big weekend functions feeding hundreds of hungry scouts.  He attended Radford University where he graduated with a degree in Food Service Management.  His first job out of college was with Marriott Corp. for 9 years as a manager working in hospitals.  He then went to work for Sysco Food Service for 4 years selling food to local restaurants in the Fredericksburg area.    From there, he went to the Medical Industry  in sales where he still today.  "I love to watch people enjoy food that I have prepared.  There is an intrinsic joy that I receive watching other enjoy food with friends and family."

Alan Hines was born and raised in Suffolk, VA where he attended Forest Glen High School.  His sophomore year he spent many hours popping popcorn for the monogram club to raise money to support the athletic program.  He spent 4 years in the U. S. Army and then returned to be a local police officer in his hometown.  While riding in the patrol car one night he dreamed of opening a hot dog stand. He opened a hot dog stand with another officer and named it "Law Dogs".   He later bought his partner out and proceeded to open two restaurants. One being "Law Dogs" and the other , "The Gavel".  He quickly entered the festival concession business.  He later ran the food service program at Nansemond Suffolk Academy.  Alan then entered his retail profession. As he was getting ready to graduate from Averitt University with a Business Degree he started to dream of successful businesses. Alan and Mark had been friends for almost a decade and often spoke about being in business together.

After many conversations and many ideas both agreed that a concession business could work.  Hence, Two Kings Concessions was born.  The two partners have a created blend of experience that is propelling the business to a unique concept.
